Is the EverAfterShave compatible with Gillette's newest product the ProGlide? Yes, it is now fully compatible.
How does this product work? What exactly does it do? The EverAfterShave does two things to provide longevity to a razor. Firstly, by closing the EverAfterShave onto the razor head, water is pushed away from the cutting edge of the razor. Secondly, the water is replaced with a thin layer of oil. Replacing water with oil is important because the cutting edge is most vulnerable to corrosion and the cutting edge is what shears hair follicles. By displacing the water with a protective coating (oil), corrosion is virtually eliminated.
The foam is slipping out of my EverAfterShave. The newest EverAfterShave has been upgraded to an improved foam and adhesive to prevent this from happening.
I just bought an EverAfterShave protector and the black foam appears dry. Should I add more petroleum jelly? The EverAfterShave is sold in a “ready to use” condition. You can feel the oil in the foam by pressing your index finger into the foam. Remove your finger from the foam and you should feel and see a thin layer of oil. We recommend checking the foam on a weekly basis. To rejuvenate the foam, work thin coat of petroleum jelly into the foam with your finger or Qtip.
If the same razor head is used for one full year, is there a problem with bacteria or fungus growing on the razor? The EverAfterShave protector works best when the razor is kept in a dry location between uses. In other words, it needs to be stored in a location where it will dry after use. A dry razor will not allow fungus or bacteria growth. For sanitary reasons, this should be a standard procedure for razors even if the EverAfterShave protector is not used.
Can I use the EverAfterShave protector on my existing blade that already has been used? For best results, we recommend starting with a brand new razor head. Any razor head used prior to applying the EverAfterShave protector will have started to corrode. The EverAfterShave protector will virtually stop the corrosion process but cannot reverse it and as a result, you might not achieve the advertised performance.
Is this EverAfterShave protector made from recycled plastic? This option was considered during the early design phase. Unfortunately, finding a recycled polymer with consistent engineering properties was difficult. We'll continue to look at this option. We would like to remind everyone of the polymer, paper, and steel that is not landfilled as a result of people using the EverAfterShave protector. Lastly, minimal packaging is used to ship the EverAfterShave to you.
I've been using the same blade for a month and the wear indicator is now white. Should I replace the blade?
As long as the blade provides a sharp smooth shave, continue to use. Our tests show the wear indicator often turns white long before the blade dulls as long as the EverAfterShave product is used.
I just put my Fusion razor into the EverAfterShave and when I pulled it out, it shaved off some of the foam. The EverAfterShave was designed to fit a number of razor styles, so the fit is a bit tighter with the larger Fusion. Our testing also saw this foam shaving issue on occasion but if we allowed the Fusion blade to sit in the EverAfterShave for a period of hours (say, overnight), the foam conforms to the blade's shape and "foam shaving" during removal of the blade no longer occurs. This initial "shaving of the foam" does not effect the ability of the EverAfterShave to protect your blade. Also note the head of the razor only needs to go into the EverAfterShave far enough to cover the cutting blades.
Do you ship outside the United States? Yes; the EverAfterShave, made in the U.S.A., ships world-wide.
